Blasphemy against the Spirit of God is the unforgivable sin that Jesus talks about. The Spirit that Jesus identifies is the Holy Spirit, which is also called the “Spirit of truth.” This is one of seven Spirits of God that emanate

from the throne of God. To attribute evil to God or His Son is blasphemy. That is because the Spirit of truth testifies to us concerning the truth of Jesus and God’s Word. To take Jesus or God’s truth and then turn it into a lie is blasphemy. Many in Christianity now speak lies concerning the word of God and His Son. But to take those lies to the next level and say that the

Holy Spirit is telling you them, is blasphemy against the Spirit. It is the one unforgivable sin! Isn’t this what the Episcopal bishops did when they said the Holy Spirit was now leading them in a new direction to sanction sin?

“Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men.” Matthew 12:31

“But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who

is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him.” Col. 3:8-10

In the simplest of terms, blasphemy is disrespect for God. Therefore,

whenever a preacher misuses God’s Word for personal gain such as twisting the tithe Scriptures or to justify filing false state documents, that preacher is committing blasphemy against God. Yet, it is forgivable at that stage if amends are made. However, when the preacher takes his or her blasphemy another step forward and claims that it comes from God’s Holy Spirit, he or

she then crosses the line of what is unforgivable sin in God’s eyes. Why? At this point they are attributing those lies directly to God Almighty and using Him for whatever it is they seek to personally accomplish or justify.

Take care, anyone who says: “Thus sayeth the Lord” or “Thus sayeth the Holy Spirit” had better be right. That includes this poor apostle. You can discern truth when you are knowledgeable of God’s eternal character.
