What a remarkable dialogue in the Holy Bible to illustrate several characteristics of God Almighty. First, that He is not Jesus is obvious as we were able to see and touch Jesus Christ — who was human like you and I in

every respect. It had to be that way! Second, God acknowledges the Israelites fears of death and laments “Oh, that they had such a heart in them that they would fear Me and always keep My commandments.” Why? “That it might be well with them and their children forever!” You could interpret the word forever as “eternally” and it would also be correct.

What a contrast we have in today’s society. Not only do preachers teach the apostasy that the commandments of God no longer matter, they also teach that it is okay to sin because Jesus has you covered. Isn’t that the

essence of the message of Christianity today, you just can’t help but sin?

My spirit senses another part of God’s lament that is not so apparent. I believe that God also feels sad that these Israelites are acknowledging that

they do not have the faith inside of them to deal with God directly. Isn’t it apparent that many of their hearts are not truly with God? If you want to fellowship with God directly like Moses, Jesus and even I, it starts with your heart. Part of that heart function is an actual fear in knowing that an eternal

destination does await each of us, either Heaven or Hell. From that fear, we make conscious decisions not to sin. We reason correctly that sin will bring eternal damnation. Jesus Christ has not altered the characteristic of God in which punishment is certain. That is why Jesus said: “There are now no

excuses for man’s sin.” Do you think that the Episcopalian bishops 1 who recently ordained an openly homosexual bishop in Minneapolis have any fear of God? Not only don’t they fear Him, it is evident that they do not have a foggy idea of who God is. Either that or they have simply chosen the wrong side of the fence. Surely as bishops they cannot be that ignorant of

God’s Holy Word on the subject of the “sin” of homosexuality. How could that be? All those years of studying, what were they reading?

They certainly demonstrated a lack of 20/20 vision [understanding]!
