Chapter 11: God’s Eternal Character

Therefore, an important characteristic of God is that He will punish sinners with or without Christ. I suspect God will punish sinners who claim Christ is their salvation much more severely for insulting the Spirit of grace. Do you remember that I showed you earlier where Christ said that there is a

minimum righteousness standard? Christ is not your ticket to eternal life. Your new one-way walk of righteousness through Christ Jesus is! In fact, that new behavior actually demonstrates that Christ is in your heart and that you received God’s message delivered by Christ. Remember Apostle John’s teaching that “those who practice righteousness are righteous like Christ?”

Nothing that God has said in Ezekiel has changed with Jesus. The above punishment characteristic of God is eternal in nature as is His logic for punishing sinners. You might be now thinking that this characteristic,

logic and word of the Lord runs counter to the salvation doctrine you’ve been taught in your Christian church. Guess what? You’ve been taught apostasy. You’ve been misled. I will tell you God’s truth of salvation in the next chapter. For now, reflect on what God is trying to teach you. Also,

reflect on how these words from God will affect those Episcopalians who openly support the willful sin of homosexuality. A righteous, practicing homosexual or lesbian? Not if you listen to the word of the Lord!

God is a God of forgiveness and always has been despite Christian doctrine that claims salvation is only through “accepting Jesus Christ in your heart.” That too is a myth and a misrepresentation of God’s Holy Word. His forgiveness is eternal and also shown in Ezekiel. Listen to the Word.

God says: “Or, if I say to the wicked people, ‘You will surely die,’ they may stop sinning and do what is right and honest. For example, they may return what somebody gave them as a promise to repay a loan, or pay [give] back what

they stole.”

“If they live by the rules that give life and do not sin, then they will surely live, and they will not die. They will not be

punished for any of their sins. They now do what is right and fair, so they will surely live.” Ezekiel 33:14-16 NCV
