worship him? Of course not, Jesus taught us to only worship God who was his Father in Heaven. Worshipping Jesus is the epitome of idolatry and not what God sent His Son down here to accomplish. It is Christian mythology.

Worship Only The Father; God Is A Jealous God!

God is also sovereign. Many Christians want to take Mark 11:24 and apply it to every prayer that comes out of their mouth. “Ask and you shall

receive, if only you really believe.” That is the way the name it and claim it crowd views this and other verses. God in their mind is nothing more than a slot machine and He cannot help but comply according to His Word. Place a demand on the anointing and God is compelled to take care of your

desires? However, God looks at the intention of your heart and His bigger picture of your life. The Apostle James writes:

“You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss.” James 4:3

It isn’t just a matter of asking in accordance with God’s will; there is also the matter of actually respecting God. The Israelites felt that God owed them because He made a promise to Abraham. Christians feel that God

owes them because of Jesus Christ’s salvation. God owes nothing to the man or woman that does not respect God. We demonstrate respect through our obedience to His Word. We demonstrate our disrespect for God through continued willful sin with or without the claim of Jesus Christ as our savior.

The disrespect is graver when sin is claimed to be sanctioned by Jesus as it “counts the blood of God’s only begotten Son as a common thing” thereby insulting God’s Spirit of grace. Both desire and demand for respect are part of God’s eternal character.
