Chapter 13: A Light On My Path

The result of the surrender of my heart to God was to fully respect and
honor both God and His only begotten human Son Jesus Christ. This was similar in nature to what I had already given Jackie. When she got my heart, she got my full respect and honor. It’s the same thing with God. The question for you now is this: Has He got your heart? Do you respect and
honor both God and His Son? Indeed, the issues of respect and honor are the responses from the heart to anyone you deeply love. Respect and honor also means submitting to that person’s desires for you. It means obedience. When that someone is not with you physically to look over your shoulder —
that will be the time when your love will be tested. That is when God will take a look inside your soul to see the intent of your mind’s thoughts and the loyalty of your heart. Will you pass the test? Have you really chosen?
“I have chosen to be faithful;
I have determined to live by Your laws. I cling to Your decrees. Lord, don’t let me be put to shame! If you will help me,
I will run to follow your commands.” Psalm 119:30-32 NLT
The New King James and King James Version end the preceding scripture with “For you shall enlarge my heart.” Indeed that is exactly what
happens. You won’t have to worry about giving up any part of your heart for those who you love. You will find that God will enlarge your heart. He will enlarge it so much you will “run to follow His commands.” Just like I have done. You will find like I have that my capacity to love others has
grown into the love of Christ and of the Father. My love is now unlimited.
For Lord, You Shall Enlarge My Heart!
Test your heart now with these three questions; use some blank paper.
1. I honor those whom I love on earth by ____________________? 2. I honor Jesus Christ whom I love by ______________________? 3. I honor my Father in Heaven whom I love by_______________?
