Chapter 13: A Light On My Path
Page 17
I have had two people I know tell me that when their kids got old enough they could make their own choice as to whether or not they will
believe in God. I wish it were so simple, it isn’t. Satan’s forces are deployed on the body and throughout our life to influence our heart in an evil way. If you fail to teach your children about God, Satan will use society to teach them there is no God; there is no right and wrong. Remember, this
is about reason in our mind, not emotion. How could your kids make the best decision of their mind without knowledge of God? Few will listen to what is written on their mind and heart without external input. Satan will make sure he gets his input into your kids. Has not God taught us to “train
up a child in the way he should go?” Yes, you can expect some vacillation between the forces of the spirit and the body on the soul; but there is no neutral position. You are either being trained by God or by Satan.
I wasn’t with God for 32 years of my life even though He constantly
tugged at my heart’s door. A friend of mine who led the Bible study group at one of my jobs told me that he sung in the choir loft for 35 years and knew then that he was not really saved all those years. Of course, he felt good singing in the choir on Sundays; but, that is not the same thing as
having God inside your heart. One is our emotion in play and the other is the mind serving the “law of God” with a loyal heart backing up reason. Don’t ever think your soul can be a neutral observer; it can’t!
