Chapter 13: A Light On My Path

Page 9

The heart is tantamount to the transmission of a car when the engine

represents the mind. You won’t get far with just your mind’s thoughts unless your heart is right with God. It is the transmission that moves the car in the right direction. Likewise, your heart is the spiritual transmission that moves your soul in the right direction. When I surrendered to God’s will, I

engaged my spiritual transmission [heart] to move my soul in God’s direction. Prior to that moment in time, God was just a bunch of mental thoughts. God was just a roar of my engine [mind]. Our minds can also engage our mouth and still get us nowhere with God. That is why God says:

“Their mouth is close, but their heart is far away; they worship Me in vain.”

“I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one

another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness.” Galatians 5:16-19

Let me see if I can tie these thoughts together with some graphics. When you start to walk in the spirit, the soul joins forces with the spirit and they jointly start to move in the right direction overwhelming the force of the

flesh or body. The graphic looks like this in which the body is demoted.
