Chapter 13: A Light On My Path
Page 4
This chapter is about the spiritual journey that led me to the point of
surrendering my heart to God and that special moment in time when I just “knew God” throughout my whole being. That whole being is my body, soul and spirit. Paul teaches on your “whole” being and it is also expressed by the graphic shown below.
“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thessalonians 5:23
Spirit Soul Body
Your Whole Being Is “Spirit, Soul & Body!”
God has just given me the above illustration. I had prayed about this
issue several times, asking God for clarity on this subject of our “whole being.” Some Christians believe and translate the word “soul” only as your breath of life. When you stop breathing, they believe it is the temporary end of your existence. Atheists believe it is a permanent end. However, those
Christians who believe it is our temporary end, believe we will exist again at the time of our bodily resurrection, a subject discussed in the last chapter.
Anyone who has ever closely witnessed death can testify that the soul
departs from the body. I believe it leaves with the spirit and returns back to God. The soul is often thought of as the seat of our emotions and will. It is associated with emotions, the heart and the mind in the Holy Bible.
