Chapter 13: A Light On My Path

Study the word loyal in the Bible and you will find it associated with
the heart and not the mind. You will not find the phrase “loyal mind” in the Bible. You will find several verses where it is taught to have a “loyal heart” towards God. Thus the loyalty of our soul emanates from within our heart. I can phrase this a little differently for you by saying that what is in your heart
is what you really believe in. That is to say, your actions speak of what is actually within your heart. The old adage to watch what they do and not what they say is true. In another sense, the truth as our soul sees it emanates from our heart, not our mind. Real, sincere belief comes from the core of
your soul. It comes from the bowels of the soul where the heart resides.
What’s In The Heart—Is What Is Really Believed!
“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the
whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.” 2 Chronicles 16:9
In the spring of my thirty-second year of life, I gave God my whole
heart without any reservation or hesitation. I said: “I get it now God; I now understand. From here on, You lead and I will follow.” That was my real salvation prayer; it was from my heart to God’s heart and I will never forget the event or the fellowship with God that occurred. It was an epiphany for
me. When you have a quiet conversation with God and tell Him the same thing, you will find that your life suddenly changes. Mine certainly did.
In essence, I finally opened up the door of my heart and let God in.
That completed His communication channel to my heart, the center of my soul. God communicates to us through the spirit. The channel is God, His Spirit, and His Son’s spirit communicating directly with our spirit. Our spirit is like the remnant God placed in married couples to give them one
flesh. Do you remember? Our soul is given such a remnant of God’s Spirit. It allows our soul to see where we come from, to understand that there is an eternity. From the spirit of our soul, the communications then goes to our mind. However, if this is all the farther God’s communication can get, there cannot be any permanent change in our life.
