Chapter 13: A Light On My Path

What is the proudest one thing you have ever done in your life? That

was the question posed by a family relationship game card, being discussed over the radio a few days ago. It is apparently a game designed to build deeper relationships within the family between parents and children. I wasn’t listening closely enough to get the name of the game, so you will

have to track it down if you are interested in it. When I heard the question posed, I reflected on it and could not come up with an immediate and easy answer. It is an interesting question; it is also a very deep question. So, if you could only name one thing you have done in your life that represents the

proudest thing you have done [or moment in your life], what would it be? Think about it for a while and take your time. That is exactly what I did.

At some point during the next 24 hours, the answer came to my mind and I knew it was the only answer for me. So, for my grandchildren and

children who are now eagerly wanting to know, here is the answer. The single proudest thing that I have ever done in my life was to “surrender myself 100% to God.” I can also tell you that the second proudest thing that I did in my life was to “give everything that I owned away.” That was the

day I opted out of ownership and instead chose to be only a steward for God.

The first choice set my soul and spirit free even while my body has continued to live in this earthly realm. The second choice set my soul free

emotionally; it also set my body free physically even while I continue to live in an earthly vessel. Indeed, those two choices confirmed to God that I am indeed an alien on this planet. Yes, it’s true; I simply do not belong to this world. All you UFO buffs should understand that this is a metaphor. I am

an earthling; I am not from another planet. Yet I am from God and I belong to God, even now, and no matter what life brings. Listen to God’s word.

“I will come near you for judgment; I will be a swift witness

against sorcerers, against adulterers, against perjurers, against those who exploit wage earners and widows and orphans, and against those who turn away an alien — because they do not fear Me, Says the Lord of hosts.”
