The soul lies between the spirit and the body, which war against each

other for control [of your soul]. At the end of the day, which side expresses itself through your own soul’s behavior, your spirit or your flesh [the body]? Obviously, the soul is our human expression and the totality of who we are on earth and of which side controls or reigns within us, the spirit and good or

the flesh and evil. It is an interesting analogy, isn’t it? Moses taught the following concerning the soul departing from Rachel when she died.

“And as her soul was departing, for she died, she called his name Ben-Oni [son of my sorrow]; but his father called him

Benjamin [son of the right hand].” Genesis 35:18 AMP

I witnessed Jackie’s last breath of life. I can tell you that I also bear witness that her soul departed from her body along with her spirit. I can also

tell you that her soul was in between both worlds for several days and there was no fear in her of where she was headed. I kept telling her it was okay for her to go, that I would also be okay. At one point she quipped back: “Don’t rush me, I am not ready yet!” Jackie knew precisely where she was

going and who was waiting for her at the appointed time. Jackie’s bravery and lack of concern for herself was clear evidence to me that she knew she was traveling to a place of happiness and joy. It would be a place without further pain and suffering. The facts concerning her soul’s departure cannot

be denied and I am not the only person who bears witness to them. Her death demonstrated to me the truth of the teaching of Moses that the “soul departs from the body at death.”

Job teaches us that the “soul” can choose death over the body.

“So that my soul chooses strangling and death rather than my body.” Job 7:15

Jesus teaches us that the body and the soul can be killed.

“And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the

soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Hell.” Matthew 10:28
