Chapter 8: Understanding God’s Word

Charles Stanley’s false doctrines are derived from mankind’s need to

rationalize the trinity doctrine. This matter of rationalization is discussed in the next chapter. For now, think about the above implication when it comes to righteousness. If you can be righteous and obey the Ten Commandments on your own, why did Jesus come? What was Jesus’ purpose? Does this

individual righteousness mean that the Jewish people and the Muslim people can be saved without Christ Jesus? Which God do the Jews and Muslims worship? Is it the same God that Christians worship?

Christian apostasy doesn’t know any boundaries because of the need of the Church to rationalize the trinity and “make” Jesus our God. Salvation is another issue that needs to be addressed. If you listened to Christian mythology, you would conclude that salvation arrived on the scene with Jesus. It didn’t. Go get some Bible software and search on the word

“salvation” and you will start to understand God a little better. Salvation did not arrive with Jesus. The “Gift of Jesus” is an upcoming chapter.

From the above example of Charles Stanley, you can observe that

some pastors will teach a message that the Bible itself does not support. This is Bible apostasy. As bad as this apostasy is: What about the pastor that tells you to actually change the wording of your Bible?

It was only a few days ago when I tuned into the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) on the satellite dish. I love God’s Word and I am always interested in listening to it preached. It was now Rod Parsley, the pastor of the Worldwide Harvest Church on the television. This pastor was teaching

out of the book of Joshua concerning the victory at Jericho. Observe the word of God at Joshua 6:18

“And you, by all means abstain from the accursed things,

lest you become accursed when you take of the accursed things, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it.” Joshua 6:18

God sent the Israelites into the city to conquer and destroy it. Are you familiar with the story of Jericho?
