Myth—Everybody Gets To Go

I’ve already talked about two groups of people that God rejects and

keeps out of Heaven. The first group is shown above and is defined by their lack of caring for other humans. I just read a statement that the Democratic presidential candidate in 2000 “doesn’t give money to charity” 32. Perhaps this Democrat feels satisfied that his party or the government would do the

job? Yet, it doesn’t matter to Jesus. He doesn’t give people consideration of their political stances. They either personally helped other people or they didn’t. Woe to those who do not care personally and expect others and their government to do the caring for “the least of our brethren.”

The second group of people tossed out by Jesus are the “lawless” and they will have no excuse for their lack of obedience with God and His Son.

“Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not

prophesied in your name, cast out demons in your name, and done many wonders in your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you who practice lawlessness!’ ” Matthew 7:22-23

The group Jesus rejects in Matthew 25 isn’t identified by religious affiliation and therefore applies to all of mankind, because Jesus states, “the nations are gathered before him.” Ergo, the essence of Christ’s rejection

relates specifically to non-caring, unrighteous and self-centered individuals. However, there is little doubt that the group Jesus rejects in Matthew 7 is Christian. Who else would dare claim to have “prophesied in your name, cast out demons and done many wonders in your name” [in the name of Jesus]? I’ve speculated that this statement of Jesus is very representative of

Christian leaders who openly speak out and preach apostate doctrines like the leaders in Solid Rock Church. These people seem to take bold spiritual positions for God, but they deny true faith by acts of lawlessness. It takes a bold Christian to do all the things cited in Matthew 7:23. Therefore, Jesus

makes it clear that many Christians will be rejected. Indeed, given Jesus’ astonishing 50% factor, it is most likely that half or more of all who claim Christ as their savior—will be rejected by him and cast into the lake of fire.
