Myth—Everybody Gets To Go

While individually the above list might seem offensive to many who

call themselves Christian, the collective list becomes completely acceptable to the Christian who says, “Jesus forgives me of all my sins. Ergo, my sins no longer matter to God.” Isn’t that the orthodox message of Christianity in many factions today? You can’t help yourself? Isn’t that why God came

down in the flesh and died on the cross? Hello.

What is wrong with such spiritual ignorance is Jesus’ astonishing 50% factor cited in Matthew 25 when combined with the selection process

also cited in the same chapter. Something terrible is happening in the U.S. culture because half of the country no longer sees an eternal consequence connected to their earthly actions. Same thing with Christians, half of them think there is no eternal consequences to their earthly actions—after they “mouth” Jesus as their Lord. I’ve already taught you why this salvation

doctrine is false. Go back and read chapters 10-12 if you don’t understand why. For now, consider that we live in a world where “wrong seems right” to many people. Steve Green captures this present reality with the lyrics—

“We are called to take his light,

To a world where wrong seems right!”

Just look at news headlines on any day. If you know your Bible and

U.S. History, you’ll recognize that in society—everything seems upside down today. Indeed, today, wrong seems right in biblical and historical terms. One recent headline read, “Banned from Showing Students the Declaration of Independence” 26. If you think that this means a fifth-grade

history teacher was told he couldn’t show the United States “Declaration of Independence” document to his students, you are exactly right. Students had asked how “under God” came into the Pledge. To answer the question, the teacher brought in several documents of the Founding Fathers. Of

course, one parent “violently” protested the mixing of church and state at school. Has the “silent” majority succumbed to the idiocy of the “violent” minority? Why is it wrong to teach U.S. History as it happened with the documents of our founders? And why is it right to teach Darwin’s

evolution in science as it is factual instead of just a theory?
