Myth—Everybody Gets To Go

“Nothing [you can do] is offensive to God.” 9

“Your earthly actions are irrelevant to Heaven.” 10

“Your job on the planet is to decide and experience who you are.” 11

“[Walsch says he] lived hundreds of lives” via reincarnation. 12

I refer to Walsch’s works as spiritual psychobabble for a few reasons. The most obvious reason is that he dismisses the Bible 3 as not being an

authoritative basis to know God. Yet on the other hand and throughout his writings, he likes to quote the Bible to reinforce or back up his current statement 13. Walsch plays on both sides of the spiritual fence and walks a wide path in his writings. It is the broad way that Jesus says leads to our destruction. Note that the implication in Matthew 7:13 is that people do get

temporarily into Heaven by entering through the wide gate. It is just that the path is one going to Hell and they don’t get to stay. Verily I say unto you that everyone will know whether the choice they’ve made is right or wrong and will suffer the eternal consequences of their individual spiritual

choice.

Jesus said, “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are

many who go in by it.” Matthew 7:13

Walsch as an author also speaks against his prior writings in what can only be termed “double-speak” 14. You cannot claim to have it both ways

when the positions are polar opposites from a moral or an intellectual perspective. I.E. The technique of first dismissing the Bible as lacking any authority for God and then using it to support spiritual arguments is just plain intellectually dishonest. Yet isn’t this what most spiritually debased

people want to do? They want to “feel good” spiritually, but do not want to obey a God with an actual set of mores that judge our earthly behavior.

“We are self-created” on our own efforts v. being Spirit-led. 15
