The badgering at Thursday’s Bible study bordered on intimidation when the truth squad launched the next serious question. “Who appointed you a teacher? Which apostle appointed you? You know that the Bible makes it clear that only an apostle can appoint a teacher?” The emphasis of

these four young men could not have been clearer. They specifically challenged the moderator’s credentials and his right to lead a Bible study. Who exactly are you to open your Bible and guide others in a study? That was the unmistakable attitude and it disturbed everyone.

Did apostles only appoint teachers? Exactly what was their Bible reference? Since they never offered any proof Scriptures for this doctrine, I will never know their exact reasoning. However, I know their claims are not in Scripture because the word of God states clearly:

“And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of

tongues.” 1 Cor. 12:28 KJV

Want to know who commissioned the moderator to lead that Bible study on Thursday night? It was God Almighty. Want to know who

commissioned me to become an apostle? It was God Almighty. There are no Scriptures in the King James Bible that state apostles appoint teachers. One can only conclude that theirs was a man made doctrine. It has no basis in God’s Word. How exactly does God set these people in the church? God

sets them inside the church by the call on their hearts. In other words, God speaks to their hearts in a way that they get the message, even if they get the message reluctantly at first. So, do they all voluntarily jump into the shoes of any of these offices just because God calls? I doubt it. Like the Prophet

Jonah and the Apostle Paul, God made it plain to them through various means that this is what He wanted them to do.

God Almighty said: “I have an offer you can’t refuse.” Does it sound

familiar?
