When Jesus told us why those Christians didn’t make it in Matthew
7:22, he said they were practicing lawlessness. Those people cast out by Christ were working both sides of the fence. In other words, while it is true they did good things, they also demonstrated no respect for God because they also operated on the unrighteous turf of Satan. Fellowshipping with
Satan in the works of unrighteousness means that they never really received God’s call. There is no fence with God. Once saved, we cannot go back to the world of willful sin. We have to make the conscious choice daily to walk with God sin free [99%]. When we do error, our sin is miniscule
compared to what it would be without Christ. If I were to overlay the sin graphic from page 43 onto this second sin graphic, it would look like this.
