To be “in Christ” is to put on the new man and shed our old earthly concerns. It means we shift our focus to eternity and to God’s ways. It

means we stop all willful sins and we walk in the light of the Father. This light of the Father is present in all who obey God’s Word regardless of what religion they practice. The real Church of Christ is the collection of souls that walk in obedience to God’s Holy Word. Sin no more was the

message of Christ from God. It was also the message of the apostles.

Christ is your advocate. Christ is not your sin excuse to God.

“My little children, these things I write to you, so that you

may not sin. And if anyone sins [by mistake inadvertently, unknowingly or by accident], we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” 1 John 2:1

There is no blood sacrifice of Christ to those who willfully sin.

“For if we sin willfully after we have received [Jesus] the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice

[of the blood of Jesus] for [our] sins.” Hebrews 10:26

There is no blood sacrifice for those who do not walk in the light.

“But if we walk in the light as [Jesus] is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ — [God’s Son] cleanses us from all sin.” 1 John 1:7

If you think you can just mouth Jesus as your Lord and that’s it, you are wrong. If you think there are no conditions to the blood of Jesus, you are wrong. The gift of salvation is free from God’s grace to those who choose. That much is true in orthodox dogma. However, if you accept God’s free

gift of salvation, some responsibilities or strings are attached. Therefore the blood of Jesus that “cleanses you from all sin” talked about in 1 John 1:7 is conditional and applies only to those who walk in the light of our Father. Walk in the Father’s light and you will know that your sins are forgiven

and that you have God’s eternal life. Has Christ brought you back to his God?
