Chapter 14: The Gift of Jesus

Page 10

Jesus has certainly not given us an excuse for continued sin. Consider the following Scripture. Jesus makes it clear that you will have no excuse

for sin in the first citation. This is interesting because many Christians use Jesus as an excuse for their sin. Apostle Paul also makes it clear that mankind will not have any excuse for not knowing God Almighty. Atheists take heed that the second citation is a direct challenge to the falsehood that

there is no God.

Jesus said: “They would not be guilty if I had not come and spoken to them. But now they have no excuse for their sin.” John 15:22 NLT

“From the time the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky and all that God made. They can clearly see His invisible qualities - His eternal power and divine nature.

So they have no excuse whatsoever for not knowing God.” Romans 1:20 NLT

So if Jesus is not really God, if salvation existed before he came

along, if he is not an excuse to sin and people can be righteous without Jesus, exactly what is (are) the gift(s) of Jesus? That is the big question of this chapter. I will attempt to answer it from a biblical perspective and clarify what God has accomplished with His only begotten human Son. I

wish I could tell you that when I am done with this chapter, that all Jews, Muslims and Christians will have the same understanding of Jesus Christ. They won’t. However, perhaps Christianity will have some clarity on the subject of what God’s Word actually says about who Jesus Christ is. Lets

summarize the biblical truth about Jesus that we’ve already discussed.
