They also respond emotionally when they should be engaging their

brains in reasoned discourse to learn the truth from God’s Holy Word. This means that anytime Scripture is cited, your ears should perk up to the word of God and you should not become defensive. Listen to the word of God on the subject of reason, your sins and the implications for your salvation.

“Come now, and let us reason together,” says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson,

They shall be as wool.” Isaiah 1:18

Now consider these words from the Apostle James on wisdom.

“But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.” James 3:17

“But the wisdom that is from above is first of all pure (undefiled); then it is peace-loving, courteous (considerate, gentle). [It is willing to] yield to reason, full of compassion and good fruits; it is wholehearted and straightforward,

impartial and unfeigned (free of doubts, wavering and insincerity).” James 3:17 AMP

Godly Wisdom Yields To Reason!

The Apostle James also states the following on listening:

“Understand [this], my beloved brethren. Let every man be

quick to hear [a ready listener], slow to speak, slow to take offense and to get angry. For man’s anger does not promote the righteousness God [wishes and requires].” James 1:19-20 AMP
