If you found it easy to check off commandments that you willfully

break, you are in trouble with God. That is the essence of Hebrews 10:26. Somehow, I do not think that the couple I talked to had the idea of breaking God’s commandments in mind. They have just been pulverized into the Christian dogma that they are sinners and just can’t help themselves. If fact,

everyone is, aren’t they? Again, listen to the word of God on this issue.

“There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the division of Abijah. His wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was

Elizabeth. And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.” Luke 1:5-6

Once again, as a Christian, you have to confront the false teachings of the church that takes Scripture out of context to teach you that no matter what you do, you cannot be a good person on your own. It is a lie, because you have free will. That free will allows you the freedom to make a choice

for good or a choice for evil. So, the next question is do you even try to be a good person given today’s teachings in Christianity? Do you actually obey God’s commandments? If not, why? Is it because you have no free will?

You can see that you can be righteous, because both Zacharias and Elizabeth were righteous before God. You can also see that this gave them eternal life no matter what is taught from your pulpit. Not because I said so, but because Jesus made this fact clear. Do righteous people have to repent?

Not if you believe what Jesus said, that he did not come down here for the righteous. Jesus came down to earth for the sake of sinners with a message of “repent and be saved” from God Almighty. Was it just another reminder from God or is there more? Why did God need two prophets on the scene?

Jesus said: “For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.” Matthew 9:13

Jesus said: “Repent, for the kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” Matthew 4:17
