Chapter 7: Choices From The Heart

Yes, the pastor I am talking about was a perverter of God’s Holy
Word. He was, in essence, a modern day Nicolaitan and minister of Baalam. He preached righteousness, but practiced unrighteousness. The pastor fulfilled the words of Jesus in Matthew.
“Therefore whatever they tell you to observe, that observe
and do, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do. For they bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.”
Matthew 23:3-4
Getting your heart straight gets your mouth straight for God and reduces your stumbling. It also prevents you from being a perverter of
God’s Holy Word. When your heart and mouth are straight, you will NOT ignore the clear words of God Almighty and His only begotten Son Jesus Christ. You have the heart of an apostle and their words cannot be denied. You understand the truth concerning any man made alteration of the Word.
“Whatever I command you, be careful to observe it; you shall not add to it nor take away from it.” Deut. 12:32
“If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the
holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” Rev. 22:18-19
Did God Almighty lie when He said to “be careful to observe it?”
That is the effect of a lot of Christian teachings today. God has not changed. The explanation for our collective ignorance in Christianity today lies in the area of our ignorance of God’s Word and our collective unwillingness to obey. Rather than learn and become accountable to God, Christians walk
the wide path to destruction content with the teachings of the Nicolaitans.
