I could, however, have provided a lengthy list of 20 or more Bible translations and you would find that they are all in agreement on this subject

matter. With few exceptions, all the Bible translations are in agreement and I will state that I believe this to be on 99% of the text. Excluding some nuances as illustrated in the last chapter, you can trust in your Bible. When you walk with God, His Spirit will also sort out and correct these nuances.

But Edward, you say: “Give me a break. You are quoting from the Old Testament. Isn’t it true that the Old Testament no longer matters?” You are certainly right about the Old Testament citation. However, if you have a heart for God, you understand that God has not changed as a result of Jesus.

That is truly the stuff of Christian mythology. Consider the following verse from the book of the Prophet Malachi in which God speaks for Himself.

“For I am the Lord, I do not change!” Malachi 3:6

This verse in Malachi is not a quotation from the Lord Jesus Christ; it is a quotation directly from God Almighty. If God has not changed, you need to listen to what God says. Our Bible teaches us in Hebrews 13:8 that:

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Therefore, you need to listen to Jesus as well.

I am constantly reminded of many preachers who teach that you can

ignore the Old Testament and the Four Gospels. Their reasoning is that Paul provided you with a higher teaching from God; a teaching of “total freedom” through grace. Therefore, we should just live within the Epistles of Apostle Paul. However, the sheer arrogance of those preachers would have you

ignore the Ten Commandments, the other words of God and the teachings of Christ that God provided. While it is true that certain aspects of the law have changed, I can tell you that you had better listen to the words of both God Almighty and His only begotten human Son, Jesus Christ.

Apostle Paul’s words do not trump the words of God Almighty and Jesus Christ! If your preacher or teacher cannot explain Apostle Paul without ignoring the plain words of God Almighty and Jesus Christ, then they are teaching you apostasy. Listen to the words of Christ to the church
