Chapter 12: The False Salvation Doctrine

The spring-loaded power switch does not have three positions; it

cannot straddle the center of the OFF (0) & ON (1) snapped positions. Your heart is the same way as far as God is concerned. If you are trying to straddle the fence [be in the middle or lukewarm towards God], it is a death sentence. That is why God has taught us in the book of Revelations the following:

“So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of my mouth.” Rev. 3:16

“But since you are like lukewarm water, I will spit you out

of my mouth!” Rev. 3:16 NLT

Do not think you can play on both sides of the fence of righteousness with God. It doesn’t work. Make a choice with your heart to follow God’s

ways. God’s righteousness will lead you to eternal life. END MEMO.

It seems like I have suffered tremendously as I try to get beyond the fourth month anniversary of Jackie’s death. One of her favorite questions was to ask me: “Do you miss me?” Of course, I would always answer that I

did. Before she died and sitting only inches from me, she asked the question often and of course I answered yes. That is because true love can feel the effects of a spiritual absence even if physically within inches of each other. I think we started that dialogue early in the seven and a half years I spent in

the U.S. Navy. We were separated many times by Naval travels. Recently I have found myself expressing often the thought “I miss you honey.”

Today, however, I have asked God to take me beyond the self-talk of

“I miss you honey” and into the self-talk of “I will remember you honey and I will honor your memory.” Yes, I find I can no longer think of Jackie being physically absent from my side. The emotional pain is too horrific. I have asked God to take me beyond those mental thoughts, to transcend my mind

into the joyous memories of our past together. Simply put, there can be no further earthly memories that Jackie and I can share. I must move on in life. I must transcend the thoughts of the past on this matter of our love.
