As hideous as it may seem, your very own pastor may be leading you astray from God’s truth. Especially concerning repentance. Paul writes

earlier in the same chapter the following words on the impenitent heart.

Impenitent Hard Hearts Treasuring Up Wrath!

“But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of

wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, who ‘will render to each one according to his deeds’ ”:

“Eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; but to those

who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth,”

“But obey unrighteousness — indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek;”

“But glory, honor, and peace to everyone who works what is good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For there is no partiality with God.” Romans 2: 5-11

If the Bible teachings from your church do not line up with the simple

word of God, you might have to leave the church and find a fellowship of believers that stand in His truth. However, before you go make sure you inform everyone you know including the pastor on why you are leaving. Would you leave your friends in a den of thieves or a pit of evil? Isn’t that

exactly what Christians do when they leave a church filled with apostasy because of evil, but fail to counsel those that they know on their knowledge? Don’t turn your back on evil. God says to purge evil. If you are in the position to fight for righteousness within your church—that is a better course

of action to take. Gather up a grievance committee and take the word of God to the elders, deacons and pastors. If they won’t repent, make it public.

Remember, at least 98% of the Bible is “exoteric” and is meant to be

understood by all. That includes you too. You can use the four principles I Copyright 2005 Edward G. Palmer, All Rights Reserved. Book of Edward—Chapter 4
