“Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he

be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?”

“For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. And again, “The Lord will judge His people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” Hebrews 10:28-31

Those who claim salvation through Jesus will be held to account for their actions. If they continue to willfully sin, they have cheapened the gift of God and “counted the blood of the covenant … a common thing.” Now if you have just given someone your most prized possession, wouldn’t you be

very angry if they didn’t take care of it, especially if they had no sense of “duty” to take care of it? Those Christians who continue to willfully sin are in serious trouble with God. “It is indeed a very fearful thing.”
