Chapter 5: Practice From The Heart
Page 5
Jesus said: “The kingdom of God isn’t ushered in with visible signs. You won’t be able to say, ‘It has begun here in this place or in that part of the country.’ For the kingdom of God is within you.” Luke 17:21 Living Bible
Yes, Jesus said, “the kingdom of God is within you.” If you think about this and meditate on this verse, you will have to conclude that it is you
and only you that are in the driver’s seat concerning the eternal destiny of your soul. Only you can make the choices that will either lead to eternal life or to eternal damnation. Only you can choose to obey God or to ignore Him. However, no matter how hard you try to ignore Him, you cannot avoid the
eventual emptiness and the feeling that you lack something very important. This is because God’s laws are “in your mind and written on your heart.”
“But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in
their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.” Jeremiah 31:33
“For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are
a law to themselves, who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing them.” Romans 2:15
“For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their minds and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.” Hebrews 8:10
Clearly God did not create you with the intention that you would have to live this earthly life on your own [spiritually speaking]. As His creation, the design was for us to live in daily fellowship with Him. To live in Eden knowing only the goodness that God and this earthly life had to offer. We
are a long way from that perfect picture and we are certainly out of practice.
